We said goodbye to some retail favorites, The Cotton Mill and Social Graces, among them, but 2012 also was a year of new (and newly revamped) retail launching in Middle Tennessee. From sprawling Opry Mills to indie boutiques to two Texas-based lines that tapped Nashville as their first non-Lone Star State start-ups, there were plenty of retail offerings born in 2012.
Jondie
Jewelry designer Rebecca Davis offers her one-of-a-kind jewelry, made from found objects such as old coins, religious relics and other special pieces, alongside fun costume jewelry and on-trend apparel at this boutique in downtown Franklin.
Davis took over the boutique in 2012 after partnering with previous owner Dena Nance and added more apparel to the merchandise mix, as well as featuring her own line of jewelry, sold under the name Mimi and Dottie.
Look for fun, trendy necklaces for less than $30 and dresses starting at $50. Mimi and Dottie bracelets start at $32, while necklaces start at $70.
Elaine Turner
Texas-based handbag and shoe designer Elaine Turner opened her first free-standing boutique (her line also is carried at Neiman Marcus) outside of her home state at the upscale Mall at Green Hills in the fall.
Turner is wildly popular in Texas for a reason. She evokes a sort of Tory Burch sensibility with a decidedly Southern spin. I love her handbags, classic shapes with eye-popping detail, color and leather treatment, such as ostrich and haircalf, that give them a “Where did you get that?” persona.
The goods are not Charming Charlie cheap, though. Expect to plunk down around $250 for a leather bag.
Soca
With more than 1,000 pairs of jeans in stock, new-to-Nashville boutique Soca touts its team of jean fit specialists and wide range of denim styles.
The store, which opened in November, is based in Alabama, and Nashville is its first foray outside the state. With lines such as Vince, Paige, Joe’s Jeans and AG, the subtitle for the store could be “No mom jeans allowed.” Still, they swear they can fit practically any customer with the wide selection.
Prices range from $88 to $250, with 805 denim offerings priced between $138 and $188.
The store also carries other apparel and some accessories — think Joi, Bella Dahl and Velvet — making this a boutique that will cater to all the beautiful people that shop around Green Hills on a daily basis.
Monkee’s
This store relaunched in 2012 after a brief closure and change of ownership and venue. While the original store was almost all footwear, the new Monkee’s opened as a full-service boutique with clothing, shoes and accessories.
From edgy Frye boots to classic Butter kitten heels, vintage Chanel earrings and a decidedly glamorous apparel stock — Elizabeth McKay, Ali Ro and Britt Ryan are a few of the designers — the store is anything but minimal. If you love pretty,Discount Canada Goose Trillium Parka review Online Store ! you will love this store.
Dresses are in the $200-plus range, and shoes start at $150.
Lucchese
This venerable boot maker — the company began crafting boots in 1883 — is another Texas transplant. And Nashville is an obvious fit, especially when you see the artisan boots that line the shelves, all decidedly country-music-meets-cowboy in style. You can order custom boots (you choose your own leather and pattern), but the selection of ready-made boots is so amazing,Discount Canada Goose Trillium Parka review Online Store ! you could spend days looking at all the options and still not be able to decide.
Of course, all of this handcrafting doesn’t come cheap. Prices start at $550. But, keep in mind, these are boots made for a lifetime of wear.
Opry Mills
After being closed for nearly two years after the 2010 flood, an improved Opry Mills reopened in March. The new Womens Canada Goose Camp Down has been revamped to be a sleeker sportier parka built . The new version includes more upscale stores, including a few retailers that are not outlets at all.
Off 5th, the Saks outlet, is still one of the major anchors of the mall,Stay warm and in style during the winter moths with the Canada Goose Resolute Parka. but Michael Kors, Cole Haan, J.Crew and The Cosmetic Market are now part of the retail mix. All are decidedly upscale in product mix, but with prices that are outlet-worthy. You can still find mom-and-pop kiosks,More Cheap Canada Goose Solaris Parka for sale. but the revamped mall feels more like a traditional mall, not an outlet, with a huge Forever 21 and Bed, Bath & Beyond among the non-outlet mix.
Kayce Hughes
Colorful, whimsical and preppy, this boutique is like a cupcake you shop at. Hughes, whose line Pears and Bears has been available online for years, has launched her brick-and-mortar vision at the Hill Center in Green Hills. Classic styles — think button-down blouses, tunic dresses and ladylike skirts — are all re-imagined in brightly colored geometric prints with piping detail. Add in an irresistible mix of over-the-top cocktail jewelry, meant to be worn for day, and you get the sort of glamor-girl vibe this shop exudes.
My favorite blouse in the store is a cheerful red ribbon print with piped yoke and collar that retails for $76. A classic tunic dress runs $138.
Jimmy Choo
Lucite tables and opulent fixtures still can’t compete with the works of art that are the footwear designed and sold by Jimmy Choo.
The shoe store, which opened in late fall at The Mall at Green Hills, is the only brick-and-mortar store devoted solely (no pun intended) to the luxe shoe designer in the Middle Tennessee area.
John Cross, senior director of public relations for the brand, says that there “is a natural synergy” between music and fashion, prompting the brand to choose Nashville as a store location.
The beyond-sexy shoes are priced starting at around $525. Not for the faint of heart, but they are little masterpieces for your feet.
Moxie Petites
Roxane Dover, owner of Moxie Petites, was constantly frustrated by the lack of clothing options for petite women. From that frustration came the only dedicated petite boutique in and around Nashville.
Dover, who carries sizes 0 to 14, offers denim, dresses, sweaters, jackets and career-wear options, all sized for the petite woman. With lines such as Wish Collection, Eva Franco and Focus 2000, the store is a great option for the woman who wants to dress for her stature without settling for clothing that is ill-fitting or too juvenile.

Find great deals after Christmas
Christmas may have come and gone,This is my review of my Canada Goose Montebello and how it ... but the big shopping season isn't over yet.Spicy Lingerie offers a great variety of moncler down coats in all sizes and styles. Retailers are doing all they can to shed their winter merchandise with end-of-season sales, so there are still plenty of deals to take advantage of.
Items that are routinely discounted after Christmas include small appliances, holiday-themed merchandise, electronics and winter clothing. Here's an idea of where to go to find them for the lowest prices:
Shopping online can be a cost-effective way to spend gift cards to big-name retailers. When you spend $50 or more at Target.com, items ship for free. With the purchase of some big-ticket items such as a 32 gigabyte iPod, you'll also get a $50 Target gift card.
Amazon.com is offering 40 percent to 70 percent off items, including toys, pet supplies, electronics and clothing. Some of the deals featured include a capsule speaker for $17.68, Eureka handheld vacuum for $36.99 and nine-piece car-care kit from Mothers Hardcore Enthusiast for $55.99.
Some after-Christmas deals are offered in-store only. Kristi Tolley, marketing manager of Mount Pleasant Towne Centre, says the outdoor shopping experience is half the fun of bargain shopping after the holidays.
“Last year,A new addition to the Canada Goose Kensington Parka collection . we didn't have super long lines or anything. People just like to come out and enjoy the mild weather and browse the sales.”
At Old Navy,Our shop offer new stlye duvetica jackets, Big Discount and Free Shipping. customers can save the most on men's and women's coats, which are priced as low as $20. Kids' jeans are on clearance and can be found in-store for as low as $10.
Ashley Lydon, manager of Palmetto Moon in Towne Centre, says the store's best deals include holiday items and outerwear. Holiday-themed cups and ornaments are marked down to 50 percent off, and Columbia fleece jackets are priced at around $20.
“We expect to be busy throughout the weekend,” Lydon says.
Shoppers who were eager to browse the year-end sale at Gwynn's of Mount Pleasant were lining up outside the door Wednesday morning, according to owner Marshall Simon.
The sale that shoppers were eager to browse includes holiday home decor, candles, clothing and boots.
Simon also said designer labels such as Michael Kors, Diane von Furstenberg and Tory Burch can be found amid the marked-down items.
The designer's spring-summer 2013 collection for the label focused mainly on creating varieties in the brand's signature A line cuts by placing the central bar very high on the body in a series of satin and organza mixed bustier dresses.
The newly appointed creative director of the renowned French label Yves Saint Laurent, 44-year-old Hedi Slimane made his mark in the history of the brand by presenting his debut YSL runway show at the Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013.
The designer of mixed origins, born to an Italian mother and a Tunisian father,Best Quality But Low Price Canada Goose Whistler Parka By Dre hot sale online. featured a collection inspired by the movies of the 1970s along with a slight hint of rich-hippie culture. His skinny-tailored apparel line included Tuxedo jackets, slim leather jeans, billowy sleeved maxi-dresses, sequined evening wear, gold chain fringed skirts and suede outfits with front lacing.
Teamed with witchy woman capes trimmed in feathers, lace and sequins, Hedi's creations stood out because of their uniqueness and hence immediately found a place in the 26-year-old young singing sensation Lady Gaga's wardrobe, which she proudly wore at the Yoko Ono Grant for Peace event in Iceland.
Taiwanese-American Designer Alexander Wang, who took the creative reins of the French fashion house Balenciaga from Nicolas Ghesquiere in December 2012, would present his first autumn-winter ready-to-wear collection for the label at the forthcoming New York Fashion Week. The 28-year-old designer also operates an eponymous fashion brand in Asia.

Seitzinger will ‘just move on'
The Mitchell school board did something recently it hadn't done in more than three decades — hire a new baseball coach.
The appointment of Jordan Key to the position on Dec. 10 marked the official end to the tenure of Gary Seitzinger, who guided the Jackets through thick and thin for the past 34 seasons.
Being unceremoniously notified that the school board would not be renewing his contract was not how the long-time coach envisioned his days in the dugout coming to an end. But after retiring from teaching last spring, the long-time mentor had at least pondered the possibility of hanging up his spikes sometime in the near future.
Like any coach, his only wish was to go out on his own terms.
“I'd been thinking for a few years about retiring and when I would do it,” Seitzinger admitted. “So I was mentally ready to do that — just maybe not the way it happened. I was ready for that situation to come about but I kind of wanted to finish with a winning season. In 2011 we had a really great year. We'd been ranked in the top 10 and so forth. But we lost eight senior starters, so I knew last year would be a tough year. We played a lot of freshmen and sophomores and the kids played hard, so I was thinking maybe another year or two, then I'd step aside. But that didn't happen, so we'll just move on.”
Seitzinger, who was 18th among active coaches with 446 victories, recalled the early years when there were a lot of things that needed addressed, both on and off the field.
“When I started, we didn't have a whole lot — equipment or facilities,Find all you need to know about Castelli Cycling and learn the latest cycling tips and techniques.” Seitzinger recalled. “We played on the same field, but it was a recreational field. When our season was over they scraped the mound off and played summer softball there.
“And we had one set of uniforms that were kind of hideous. So one of the first things I did was get something that was a little more baseballish.Great discounts on our huge range of Specialized Cycling clothing - shorts, jerseys, jackets & more.
“After a few years it built and built. More and more people got involved and things got better and better, so we just kept it going. I really never thought about how long I would stay. I just took it a year at a time. But the next thing you know it was 10 years, then 20 years and now 34.”
Seitzinger's teams claimed six sectional championships, 13 Patoka Lake Athletic Conference titles, and were 142-50 overall in conference play. He coached 81 all-conference players over the years and had 26 young men go on to play at least one year of college baseball. He was also selected as a South All-Star Team coach in 2001.
In spite of all the accolades earned by him and his players, being able to work with some outstanding young men over the years (including his two sons Trent and Josh), are among the highlights of his career.
“I got to coach both my boys, and fortunately they both had a lot of success — they were both all-conference catchers” said Seitzinger. “And I got to coach with both my sons. Trent's been my assistant the last 15 years. He's brought a lot to the table, having played at IU and at Vincennes University. And Josh helped me for a couple years before he moved back to Bloomington. He brought a lot, having worked up in Indianapolis for the Indians.
“We just always seemed to have a lot of really good kids.Find RadioShack Cycling and running devices, heart rate monitors . Some of them weren't great baseball players, but they were great people. We always strived to do the right things on and off the field.”
Seitzinger, who spent countless hours helping make Jacket Field one of the finest high school facilities around, will miss that labor of love as well.
“It's been great,” Seitzinger noted. “There are just a lot of things I'll probably look back on and miss.2012 Garmin Cycling Components. As long as the equipment worked, I really enjoyed working on the field, and I always looked forward to going to practice. I had somebody once tell me that everybody is always ready to coach games, but when you get tired of going to practice, that's when it's time to hang it up. But I never got tired of it. It was always fun watching the kids work to get better. And we had a little bit of success now and then, which was always nice.”
Not only are the Jackets losing their coach of the past three decades, but the Mitchell faithful will also have to say goodbye to the long-time proprietor of the concession stand as well. Whether Gary's wife Marcia will pass along her recipe for “Bubba's World Famous Sloppy Joes” remains to be seen. But the absence of the Seitzinger clan will no doubt be noticeable, both on and off the field.
“You can't do it for 34 years without somebody like Marcia,” Gary noted. “She has just been super.Where To Buy Canada Goose Online, our moncler jackets men Offer Canada Goose Coacts with Lowest Price. She's gotten actively involved, running the concession stand, finding sponsors to put signs up. She went to just about all the away games and brought food for the players to eat. So you've got to have somebody like that or you can't do it for 34 years. You couldn't do it for five years.
“But I think she was ready too. We've already planned trips. Our 40th wedding anniversary is coming up in the spring and we're going to take a Disney Cruise. That would have been during the first week of baseball practice, but I think that will work out OK for us now.”
And there will still be a lot of baseball on the menu.
“I marked on my calendar every home IU baseball game and every University of Louisville game when I'm not going to IU,” Seitzinger said. “I've also marked when the College World Series is going to be, so I may be heading out there to see some of that.”
Seitzinger also plans to do some more coaching. He'll be working with his grandson Ben's team next year.
“I'm going to coach my grandson's 9-under travel team this summer,” he said. “But as far as high school ball, I don't see myself going back to it.”

Search resumes for missing students, including Barnstable man
Officials in Maine are using sonar to search the waters off the coast where two men, including one from Barnstable, were last seen before they mysteriously disappeared last week.
Clothes, including two adult life jackets, were found on a small islStylish moncler jackets for sale that will keep you warm and look amazing!and Monday morning by Maine Marine Patrol officials involved in the search,Find RadioShack Cycling and running devices, heart rate monitors . the agency's communications director Jeff Nichols said today.
Prescott Wright, 23, of Barnstable and Zachary Wells, 21, of Burlington, Vt. — both students at the Landing School for boat builders in nearby Arundel, Maine — have not been seen since early Thursday morning, according to Kennebunkport police.
The men were last seen at Wells' residence at 5 Mills Road in Cape Porpoise, a coastal village in Kennebunkport about a mile from where the clothing was found.
The search for the two men on the water, which was suspended on Christmas day,2012 Garmin Cycling Components. resumed today with resources from the marine patrol, Kennebunkport police and the state's dive team, Nichols said.
The searchers are using side-scan sonar to search waters off Goat Island and Trott Island, Nichols said.
Goat Island is home to a lighthouse and other buildings maintained by the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust but is otherwise uninhabited. Trott Island is larger and covered in woods but is also uninhabited.
The Maine Marine Patrol has two 21-foot Boston Whalers on the scene and had a plane in the air earlier, he said.
Nichols said the marine patrol found the two life jackets, a jacket, a sweatshirt, two pairs of jeans and footwear on Goat Island but he couldn't say whether the clothing was found in a pile or spread across a wider area.
“I don't have any more information on the exact location or condition of the clothing,” he said.
Kennebunkport police Chief Craig Sanford said the clothing was found together and that one item had indications that it is connected to one of the men.
He declined to elaborate on what item of clothing was connected to which man and how.
“We haven't found anything conclusive yet,” he said.
Sanford said he had police officers searching on land on Christmas for the men and that, while the search on the water had changed over to a recovery operation, he had to keep an open mind about the possibility that the men may be alive onshore somewhere.
“You just never know,Great discounts on our huge range of Specialized Cycling clothing - shorts, jerseys, jackets & more.” he said.
There is no indication that the two men had taken a vessel out on the water, Sanford said, adding that there is no report of missing or stolen boats.
All boats Wright and Wells had access to are accounted for, he said.
Any images of interest found using the sonar will be marked and divers will return to investigate, Sanford said. All prada bags with high quality and best service, save 50% off, Free and fast delivery. The Coast Guard flew a Jayhawk helicopter over the area on the first day after the men were reported missing but the agency is otherwise not involved in the search, Coast Guard spokesman Adam Stanton said today.

Sandy Relief Center Looted, Baby Items Swiped, Others Destroyed
A relief center for storm-ravaged residents of Staten Island was looted and vandalized overnight on Christmas by thieves who stole donated supplies and destroyed items intended for Sandy victims.
The Midland Beach center on Midland Avenue has been an oasis of hope for those who lost their homes in the storm nearly two months ago. The supplies are housed under a tent, blocked off with barricades and manned by volunteers, but the workers left the center unattended on Christmas night.
Thieves made off with baby gear, baby blankets, baby clothes,All prada bags with high quality and best service, save 50% off, Free and fast delivery. winter clothing and warm bedding.
Losing those items is "a punch in the stomach," said Mike Hoffman, who heads up the Staten Island volunteer team known as Boots on the Ground.
"I had a couple leftover propane stoves that were donated," said Hoffman. "One was just ripped open, they didn't even take it. They just ripped it open and destroyed it. So that's one less family now that can cook a warm meal."
And with a winter storm heading toward the area again on Wednesday, the center had been stocking crucial supplies.

There’s almost nothing normal about playing a postseason college football game in late December. The neutral venue is typically far away from each team’s campus, practices are held in unfamiliar locations and at odd times and the game is weeks removed from the regular-season finale.

It’s December! and Europe freezes
Dubai: The weather outside is frightful — and cold, bitterly cold.
In Russia,They just want an authentic moncler coats to be cool. at least 88 people died as the mercury plummeted to near -30 degrees Celcius — cold enough to freeze expose bare skin in less than a minute.
Moscow authorities told schoolchildren they could stay home to avoid the frigid temperatures as at least 550 people needed medical treatment in the capital region.
For the past ten days, there’s been no let up in the deep freeze. And what’s concerning authorities is that the normally cold Russian winter is deeper and longer — 12 degrees Celcius colder. It’s already -50 Celsius in eastern Siberia, with such chills not normally arriving until January or February.
In Ukraine, which has been battling heavy snowfall for weeks, at least 83 people had died of cold, with 57 of the victims found on the street.
In China, it’s the same story. A cold front brought temperatures of -40 degrees Celsius to northern China, as officials urged cities to conserve heating and two tourists died after they were stranded on a mountain.
The cold was expected to continue, with Beijing forecast to see temperatures of -11 degrees Celsius, the China Meteorological Administration said on its website. Snowfall of as much as 1.5 meters was recorded in northern Xinjiang, the China Daily newspaper reported.
In Britain, it’s wet and cold.
Holiday travel plans are being put on hold for thousands of people in Britain because floods have halted train service to the country’s southwest corner and the National Weather Service has issued more than 500 flood alerts and warnings for England and Wales.
To the north in Scotland, nearly 50 warnings have been issued, but it’s the southwest of England that has borne the brunt of the heavy rains.

Residents have been forced to wade or cycle through the water, with some opting for makeshift boats.
Some of the roads in the southwest are inaccessible due to flooding.
At least 26 people died over the past day in freezing temperatures in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
The deaths were reported Sunday and yesterday in Basli, Jaunpur, Mirzapur, Varanasi and Chandauli towns. Temperatures as low as -4 degrees Celsius were reported in the state.
While some of the deaths were due to exposure, at least six people were killed in road accidents caused by dense fog, the report said.

Temperatures in Yayladagi typically drop below freezing on winter nights, and mountains not far away are capped with snow. Two women washing dishes at a cold-water spigot, by a metal fence with razor wire, said many adults are catching flu and colds from the children.
“We’re always sick, all of us,” said Raida, who is six months pregnant, as she perched on a large plastic yogurt barrel. Suleiman Qubbai, 18, a construction worker wearing a thin leather jacket, said he dreaded a repeat of last winter, when a heavy snowfall caused several tents to collapse. The power was out for three days, and many refugees huddled in tents under blankets until it was restored and the heaters worked again.

Robert Pattinson Wears Floral-Lined Jacket Explaining Why He Forgave KStew
Robert Pattinson is just a cool dude. Who else could get cheated on, have it splashed all over the news, and then decide to forgive and get back together, and still not lose an ounce of swagger? Here's your answer: Because he's the kind of guy who wears floral-lined jackets.
That's our very own brooding boyfriend trying to go incognito through JFK airport on Saturday. Hair freshly cut. Cool guy sunnies on. Emo-cred guitar in hand.Sofia Vergara wearing Christian louboutin high heel shoes. And that jacket -- black and slick on the outside, tiny flowers adorning the inside. Like a guy who wears pink. I happen to think it's a stylish jacket. I also think men can wear floral, just like women can wear a jacket lined with tow trucks. Or moustaches. Or whatever is considered a manly print.
Rock on, RPattz. If your tighty whities had a heart print, I'd love you even more.

Would You Wear A 'Boobypack'?
I'm just gonna go ahead and assume you don't wear fannypacks. It's not that I think you don't like to have your stuff handy and safe around the waist; it's just that I kind of assume nobody wears fannypacks outside of being a parent taking their kids Disneyland. But what if that pack could be wrapped around your boobs rather than your, er, “fanny”? (By the way, worst word ever.)
New York-based writer and editor Christina Conrad has decided that this is a totally untapped and marketable idea, because women already often put credit cards and ID in their bras anyway. She created the “Boobypack: a fannypack… for your boobs,” which pretty much sums up the concept. According to its Kickstarter page, the Boobypack is “a sports-like bra that holds and protects your valuables from excessive sweat and movement.” It keeps these safe by unzipping at the underarm.
She's marketing the idea primarily towards concert-goers; in particular, people who would be dancing vigorously at electronic music shows. The example for a potential user's post-wear exclamation: “Thank god I had my Boobypack on when DJ (insert name) dropped his sick new beat or else I would have lost my mind AND my phone!” Now, I'll forgive Conrad for using the term “sick new beat” because this actually makes a considerable amount of sense. While my rave days are behind me — seriously, being older than 21 at those events often feels like the first step to being geriatric — I do still go to a fair amount of concerts, and I can see how this thing might be handy. When you're dancing and it's really hot, you don't want to be wearing a jacket or carrying a purse; it's just annoying. Instead, putting stuff in your bra, but more securely, would be extremely convenient. Plenty of other people seem to believe in this idea, as well, as she has exceeded her $15,000 goal by over $3k already.
That said, I doubt I would ever wear this as a standalone bra…personally, while I love longer bras and bralettes, this type of material has never offered much structure for somebody with larger breasts. If I were to be dancing, as this is intended for, I'm pretty sure I'd be goddamned miserable. I also hate neon anything, so these colors feel a little heinous, to say the least. If this idea were suddenly lacy and gave a bit of support to my boobs, I would be totally into it. For now, though, I think I'll just stick to pinning my pockets closed and/or just carrying a damn purse.

Thou shalt not... Overpack
"Check the weather forecast before you go to minimise all those 'just in case' items," advises Emily O'Brien, editor of Styloko.com.
"Wear your bulkiest items to the airport - if you're taking a jumper and jacket, this is the time to wear them. To avoid carrying excess clothes that don't go with anything, try and pack outfits rather than throwing in random items."
Thou shalt not... Hoard a redundant wardrobe
Mark Pearson, chairman of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, says: "Selling items online can be a great way of getting rid of unsuitable clothes, particularly if you've nabbed yourself an item that's in high demand - often a bidding war will mean you get a higher return than you paid in the first place.
"Be aware that selling online often incurs additional selling fees, particularly with eBay, so you need to be careful it's not costing you more than you realise."

Same Man Flashes Knife During 2 Separate Retail Thefts
Wauwatosa police are seeking a man who on successive days, during retail thefts at two different Walgreens stores, flashed a large hunting knife at employees who tried to stop him or his accomplices.
According to the police reports:
At 4:05 p.m. Friday, during a retail theft of liquor by a woman at the Walgreens at 10800 W. Capitol Dr., her male companion brandished a knife at two employees.
A store manager there said that the two were in the liquor section and kept opening the doors on a display, which repeatedly triggered an intercom announcement that “Assistance is needed in the liquor department.” He noticed that neither of the two appeared old enough to drink.
The manager saw the young woman take a bottle of vodka and a bottle of bourbon and hide them in her coat. He approached and asked if he could ring up those purchases, and she declined and handed over the vodka.
“How about the Jack Daniels?” the manager said, whereupon the woman ran for the doors. The manager and a store security guard followed, and the woman’s companion ran out behind them.
In the parking lot, the manager could not get the woman to halt and was advised by his security guard to let her go. When they turned back, they found the woman’s accomplice staring at them and saw him draw a large knife out of a sheath at his waist. He waved it in front of him, and the two employees backed off as the suspect circled to put himself between them and the woman.Stay warm and in style during the winter moths with the Canada Goose Manitoba Jacket.

Suspect gives back phone but still shows weapon
At 8:07 p.m. Saturday,The new Womens Canada Goose Solaris Parka has been revamped to be a sleeker sportier parka built . police were called to the Walgreens at 6600 W. State St. on a report of an armed robbery, which turned out to be only a slight exaggeration. This is my review of my Canada Goose Trillium Parka and how it ...
A manager told officers that a man she confronted about a suspected retail theft had displayed a large knife in a threatening manner before he left the store.
It began when she was called out of her office by a cashier who said that three men, one carrying a small child, had come in together, and she had seen one of them taking a cell phone from a display.
The manager saw there was a phone missing from the display and then found the empty packaging on the floor. She approached the group and asked the one she suspected about the phone.
He said he had it and would put it back, but he did not. His companions left the store, but he was stopped by the cashier, who told him she believed he still had the phone. They got into an argument, and the manager tried to break it up.
When she told the man to give back the phone, this time he did walk back into the merchandise aisles and drop the phone on a shelf.
Then he and the cashier got to arguing again, and again the manager tried to break it up and herd him out the door. She bumped his arm in the process, she said,Here online offer cheap and durable Canada Goose Kensington Parka, Canada Goose Expedition Parka. and when that happened, he told her not to touch him and opened his coat to reveal a large hunting knife in a sheath. He pulled the blade almost out of the sheath in a threatening manner before turning and leaving.
The suspect was seen inside Metcalfe’s Sentry Foods briefly just after that incident.
Police believe the same man is responsible for both incidents based on the descriptions of him, his actions and the weapon.
The suspect is described as black, 20 to 30 years old, 6 feet tall, 150 to 180 pounds, with his hair in a short afro, wearing a two-tone jacket with light brown shell and darker brown sleeves,A new addition to the Canada Goose Montebello collection . and blue jeans. He was said to have worn the same jacket in both cases.
The knife he carried was described as being about 8 inches long, with a wide blade, serrated along the back and with several holes along the upper length of the blade. The suspect carried it in a plain black leather sheath at his waist.

Best Dressed Women Of 2012
Best Dressed Women Of 2012: Miranda Kerr, Victoria Beckham, louis vuitton borse Alexa Chung & More
It's quite easy to be the best dressed star on the red carpet thanks to a team of stylists and make-up artists, so when it came to choosing our most stylish female celebs of 2012 all round, we had to leave Kristen Stewart off the list.
Despite wowing us with her array of sparkling designer gowns at the Twilight and On the Road premieres, K.Stew's daytime style leaves much to be desired with her plaid shirts and shoddy sneakers.
So when it came to boiling it down to which female star topped our Best Dressed Women of the year list, Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr triumphed without hesitation.
Known for wearing her undies down the VS catwalks, Aussie supermodel and mum of one Miranda cuts a striking image in terms of her street style when it comes to dressing down.replica shoes
Consistently looking effortlessly chic every time we spot her running errands in NYC, this speckled grey cropped jacket and silk shirt dress combo is just one of many fashion triumphs from Mrs Orlando Bloom.
Another fashionista to nab the second spot on our list would have to be the ever-impeccable Alexa Chung, who manages to put her touch on every outfit she wears whether it's dressed up or down.
Wearing a stunning white Chanel dress featuring pastel floral embroidery detailing, Alexa can wear a dressy gown and make it look effortless and slightly casual at the same time with her ombred bedhead locks and natural make-up.
She also looks just as gorgeous when she's running around New York,Canada Goose Montebello such as when she donned her JW Anderson bat jumper with black faded skinny jeans, ankle boots and a striped shirt.Canada Goose Kensington Parka
In third place is The Amazing-Spider-Man actress Emma Stone, who has invented her own red carpet style of quirky-meets-elegance with her unusual gowns, such as her red and white floral number she donned at an LA premiere earlier this year.
She also looks just as chic off the red carpet in her skinny jeans which she manages to jazz up with printed jackets and statement bags.

Chocolate-covered Christmas
Like many women, I adore chocolate. So much that Petey keeps a giant Hershey bar in a glass box with a small hammer attached, in case he's in the line of fire when I experience a chocolate emergency.
I also love Christmas. I love the jacket and scarf weather that the season brings to North Carolina. I love holiday music from Johnny Mathis and sappy TV specials from my childhood. I love the decorations and the happy secrets.Canada Goose Trillium Parka I even own a hideous Christmas sweater (please don't tell anybody).
Thusly, the Christmas/chocolate fusion thrills me.
In October, Jessica Pinter sent me an invitation to a chocolate tasting at One World Market (811 Ninth St., #100), a Bull City institution.
Uh, yeah.
Except for a 90 percent off shoe sale where there are plenty of size 10s, a chocolate tasting would be my favorite retail event.
On the big day, executive director Laura Wendell greeted me at the door. I got a rundown of their chocolate, as well as a lesson in the art of cacao.
One World is a nonprofit enterprise which offers handmade goods from around the globe. All the merchandise is procured from sources on a fair-trade basis. That means there's no evil overlord sucking up most of the profits. The artisans are paid directly for their creations.
I left with some cocoa treats for a care package for The Kid, a bracelet, and my new favorite candy bar, Divine's milk chocolate coffee. It tastes like getting hit upside the head with a chocolate covered coffee pot.
A couple weeks later I returned and knocked out a third of my Christmas list. I also picked up some Divines 70 percent cacao bars for a cake I was baking for Thanksgiving dessert.
It was Beatty's chocolate cake, from the Barefoot Contessa, Ina Garten. It's the chocolate cake of your dreams.
I've made it for years,Canada Goose Whistler Parka and it's always a hit.
The batter is kind of odd.burberry bags When it comes together, it's really watery; about the thickness of cream.
You'd think it wouldn't bake up right, but it always does, and produces a moist rich cake with enough structural integrity to hold mounds of the buttery chocolate frosting.

Brilliance beneath a grungy exterior
If you were walking down the street and saw Russell Brand mingling with a group of homeless people you'd be none the wiser.
Take one look at his ripped jeans, old boots and scruffy beard and you'd never guess he'd been in various movies,Scarpe Hogan Interactive 2012 Donna Marrone burberry bags Outlet . television shows and a marriage with Katy Perry.
Russell himself admits that he's no good at acting as anyone else except himself with a hat on, which sums up the fact that a large part of what he does both in life and in his comedy performance would be nothing without his reputation as a dirty,Buy online Canada Goose Calgary Jacket price from variety of collection. immature, womanising whack job.
Although his reputation is what makes women in the audience shriek with delight as he simply takes his jacket off, you could say it makes him nothing more than an embodiment of arrogance, and while it kind of does sometimes as he struts about the stage, it also lets him get away with more and really push some boundaries that other comedians couldn't touch, and that's where his brilliance lies.
On the surface, Brand seems to be nothing more than a comedian who swings from sheer absurdity, to telling some jokes and then preaching a bit about world issues.
Which is fine for the people who come along just to point and laugh at a silly British man on stage doing silly things because he's silly.
Reading a little deeper into things, I found that his cleverness lies in the contrast.
Brand has a knack for talking about political issues, such as how large corporations are using slogans to force consumerism upon us, and then comparing it to something ludicrous, in a way that's so strangely accurate, you can't help but laugh and be ashamed at the state of our world at the same time.Cheap Canada Goose Kensington Parka Full Zip Hoody For Sale.
The fact that his comedy worked on so many levels with such clever use of contrast means that Brand is a man that anyone can find funny, and although I can't stand his arrogance, I can't deny his genius either.

Saturday, not long after the morning fog cleared, orderly lines formed behind each truck. Some participants waited more than an hour to be among the first to receive a wreath. With wreaths in hand, individuals and families walked through the rows of white tombstones. Young scouts read the name of the soldier before laying the wreath, one pronouncing "Cor-a" for Korea before saluting. City conducts annual homeless census
Dressed in a flannel shirt, red jacket,Superb range of LIVESTRONG Cycling products at Wiggle, the online cycle, run, swim & tri shop. and knit winter hat, Jim Greene led one of 48 volunteer teams into Downtown Crossing on a chilly night Wednesday as the city set out to conduct its annual count of the homeless population, as well as to offer them aid, shelter, and medical assistance.
Greene, director of emergency shelters for the Boston Public Health Commission, approached two homeless women on Washington Street and was greeted by a warm, "Hey, Jim!" He has been working with the homeless for 27 years.
"How are you doing?" said Greene, kneeling down before the women bundled in blankets outside a storefront.
"Well, not so well," responded one of the women, who identified herself as Cheryl.
The two women, Cheryl and Elizabeth, were offered shelter and assistance for the night, but refused because they were worried they would be split up.
Elizabeth, 20,Burberry Outlet Offers hogan scarpe Sale with Free Shipping. said she was pregnant and that Cheryl probably felt the urge to protect her, Greene said afterward. He said they would attempt to speak with the pair later with a smaller group of volunteers.
As Greene's team swept through downtown during Boston's 33d Annual Homeless Census, some 350 other volunteers, including a number of city officials, went through neighborhoods to count and assist those without homes, said Dr. Barbara Ferrer, executive director of the Public Health Commission.
The workers and volunteers met at City Hall, split into 48 teams, dispersed into the neighborhoods around 9:45 p.m., and worked late into the night. Alongside them, eight vans from various organizations aided in the census, transporting homeless to available shelters and providing food and medical attention.
"The most important thing we do as a city government is help people," said Mayor Thomas M. Menino, who could not attend because he is recovering after a recent hospitalization. "And our annual census does so much more than just count the homeless. The volunteers out there in every neighborhood are lending a helping hand to our most vulnerable citizens and helping them take the first step toward a better life. I commend them and their efforts, and I wish I could be out there with them tonight."
Last year, the census counted a total of 6,Women's Canada Goose Solaris Parka make a great warm, dry and comfortable and above all.647 homeless men, women, and children, a 2.4 percent decrease from 2010.
The number included those living in shelters and the 181 people living on the streets, the lowest number of homeless recorded living outside since 1997, the census report said.
Boston is the first of nine cities in the country to pilot a new initiative from the US Inter agency Council on Homelessness called Youth Count! in an attempt to count the number of unaccompanied youth ages 14 to 24, Ferrer said.
"We want to identify a very hard-to-reach population on the streets," said Robb Zarges, executive director or Bridge Over Troubled Waters, an organization focused on helping runaway, homeless, and troubled youth. "It's a tougher population to find. It's a tougher population to serve."
Youth Count!'s survey-based work will extend beyond Wednesday night's census, Zarges said. Over the next five to six days, volunteers will attempt to count youth and receive numbers from city shelters and clinics, Greene said.
Barbara Poppe,Wholesale and Discount SAXO BANK Cycling jersey online ! executive director of the Interagency Council, came to Boston for the census on invitation from Menino. He "really leads the country in compassion on this issue," Poppe said. The Whole SKY Cycling Team is a non-profit Junior and U-23 development program.

What's a Store For?
The elevator door opened in the Sutton Place penthouse of Richard Perry, the hedge-fund manager, and there he stood in the white foyer wearing a black knit suit whose slumping shoulders made him look like a bony country parson. Perry is a man of meticulous habit, a super-athlete who prides himself on his sophisticated sense of style. He has a closetful of suits by Thom Browne and Lanvin that don't have shoulders that slant like a roof. This one was a blip of misjudgment. But Perry, no doubt out of devotion to his wife,Sean Yates quits as Team RadioShack Cycling coach . Lisa, a fashion designer who made the suit in the same double knit she uses for her mod dresses, decided to wear it that night. And it was an evening of some importance, for the Perrys were off to a party at Barneys — their first since Richard bought the renowned specialty store.
"Welcome! Welcome!" he boomed as I stepped off the elevator. A moment later, from the apartment's depths, Lisa appeared, a small, sunny woman with ageless girl-next-door features and tawny hair cut in a chic mop. Lisa grew up in the north suburbs of Chicago and still retains, after more than 30 years in New York, a Midwestern accent,The Whole SKY Cycling Team is a non-profit Junior and U-23 development program. along with an easy friendliness. She was wearing a yellow-and-gray-print dress of her own design and high heels.
Richard was keen to show me the apartment, which is something else.Buy dsquared shoes at the best price and free shipping. It is a pure example of the Pop and neo-Pop aesthetics in that everything is magnified and lurid, like the huge Jeff Koons metallic green diamond planted on the terrace, visible from the foyer — and a source of vexation with a neighbor, who claimed the rock emits a laser-strength glare. (Richard dismisses the gripe as baseless.) The apartment is like someone's idea in 1963 of a home of the future, down to the panoramic curve of the living room, the bottomless whiteness and the oval leather sofa large enough to seat 30. On the walls hang paintings by Roy Lichtenstein and Jim Dine. It's not a room for relaxing; even trays of hard candies, displayed with absurd precision, seem to treat enjoyment strictly as a still life.
Far from being the white elephant that some supposed when the Perrys bought the penthouse in 2000 for $10.9 million (the main drawback was its two ballrooms), the place fed new goals for the couple. Lisa, at one time an abortion-rights advocate and a Democratic fund-raiser ("I really wanted Hillary to be president," she says, and to illustrate the couple's regard, a portrait of Hillary by Chuck Close hangs in the apartment), had begun to collect '60s fashion, like Courrèges. Strangers would often ask her who designed her outfit, she said, and "that's when the light bulb went off." By 2007, she was selling Lisa Perry creations at stores like Jeffrey and Bergdorf Goodman. She persuaded artists or their heirs, like Lichtenstein's widow, Dorothy, to let her reproduce artwork on her designs, for a small percentage of sales (that is then donated to the artist's cause). But she was bedeviled by the pressures of a small wholesale operation, so she decided to focus just on her shop on Madison Avenue and some kids' clothes for Barneys. By that time, and perhaps not wholly coincidentally,Wholesale and Discount SAXO BANK Cycling jersey online ! Richard had bought a large amount of Barneys' debt. He had also endorsed his wife's Pop aesthetic, buying all the biggest art guns. It astonished Lisa how far he went. She said: "I was going to do Pop Art lite, I call it — stuff that looked like Pop Art. Warholesque." She laughed at how this sounded. She said that it was the analyst in her husband that made him want to dig deep, "whether it's a company, whatever it is." Before their Pop Art phase, they collected French Empire antiques, and Richard would crawl under tables to see how they were put together. The apartment makes Lisa happy, but she admitted: "I even walk around saying, ‘Do I really live here?' I did not grow up like this." Richard described his art foray in candy-store terms, saying he went through a book on Pop Art and said, "I'll take this, this and this." But that's a typical bit of Perry swagger. (If he made the gluttonous "this and this" comment, the art adviser Dominique Levy, who has worked with the Perrys for a decade, said it was not to her, and that Perry pushed to make unexpected choices.)
Richard motioned me over to the window to peer at the green diamond,Buy online discount gucci handbags price from variety of collection. which would look just dandy on the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.
He said, "Did you know that Koons considers it a symbol of human creation?"
Lisa laughed tensely. "Richard, I don't think Jeff meant — "
"No, no, it's interesting," he said, springing into a description of how the prongs were sperm attacking the ovum. When he finished he bent his head toward me and, with a sheepish grin, said, "I'm a little bit of a nerd."

Coronation Street barmaid Katherine Kelly makes return to screen as posh Lady Mae in Edwardian drama
WITH its lords,Wholesale and Discount SAXO BANK Cycling jersey online ! ladies in bonnets and strict class divides, drama Mr Selfridge appears to follow the Downton formula – only it's set in a big shop rather than a big house.
But viewers are in for a surprise – not least when Katherine Kelly, Coronation Street's gobby, cider-swilling barmaid Becky, appears.
Soap fans expecting her to play a salt-of-the-earth shopgirl will do a double-take when she glides on to the shop floor as wealthy aristocrat Lady Mae Loxley. She plays one of Edwardian London's most powerful socialites, with a love of high fashion and enormous hats.
It's Katherine's first TV role since she quit Corrie a year ago and she explodes back on the screen as an immaculate brunette with a cut-glass RP accent and a penchant for very young lovers.
The actress admits it might take Becky's fans a while to get used to her 1909 character.
She said: “We don't like change so Corrie fans probably won't like it at first. That's just the way we are, isn't it? I miss Becky too but I love Lady Mae as much as I loved Becky.
“I just hope that within 10 minutes they'll forget her and be completely taken up by this show.”
While the formidable Lady Mae is as headstrong as Becky ever was,The Whole SKY Cycling Team is a non-profit Junior and U-23 development program. she conducts herself differently.
“If you think I'm going to waltz into Selfridges with a bottle of cider and smash it all up,Sean Yates quits as Team RadioShack Cycling coach . you're going to be disappointed,” Katherine laughed.
“But I left Coronation Street to play other roles and this is a very different one. I loved the script – it's not just another period drama.”
Lady Mae is a Gaiety Girl who begins a new life after marrying Lord Loxley. We never see him, as he prefers to stay in the country while she lives it up in town.
Lady Mae is aware of her power and enjoys her position. “Watch out for the hats – they can cause an eclipse,” Katherine warned. “She has to have the biggest and the best. They had to change the camera angles to shoot around my hats.”
Viewers will be surprised to discover what she wants in return for helping out Chicago businessman Harry Gordon Selfridge – played by Entourage star Jeremy Piven.
Katherine explained: “It's not until you know her a bit more that you find out she's a suffragette and wants Harry to endorse the cause and actively support it.”
Piven – who reckons American actors could learn a lot from the British work ethic he's encountered on set – has impressed her.
“He's everything you'd hope he would be,” she gushed. “You've got to understand why everybody fell at Harry's feet and adored him – he's got to be so charismatic. And Jeremy has got that in abundance.
“He's a great leading man. He's the real deal. People who adore him in Entourage always say, what's he like? And I'm going, let me tell you, however brilliant you think he is, he's better than that.”
Piven was equally enamoured with 33-year-old Katherine.
“Those who only know her from Coronation Street won't be able to recognise her in this, at the opposite end of the spectrum. She's a genius,” he said.
As foul-mouthed Hollywood agent Ari Gold, the actor helped Entourage to win both Emmys and Golden Globes. Even so, he suffered the indignity of having his first sex scene cut from the first episode.
It showed Selfridge getting rid of his mistress after learning that his wife and children were arriving.
“We thought it might put people off him, that he was being unfaithful to his wife before we'd even got to know him,” writer Andrew Davies explained.
Piven, 47, took it in his stride. “It's not an ego blow,” he said. “From decades of auditioning, you grow a very thick skin.”
He has loved his time on the series, filmed in Neasden, north-west London. “They just get on with it,” he mused. “They aren't taking any victory laps, they get it done in 12 hours, which is like a magic trick compared to the States.
“The actors are kind of breathtaking and, even in the smallest role, they could carry the show on their own. They all seem to be incredibly over-qualified.”
He identified with Selfridge who hails from his neck of the woods. “Growing up myself in Chicago and going to Marshall Field's department store, my family have a real history with it.Buy dsquared shoes at the best price and free shipping.”
But he added: “Harry Selfridge is a showman and likes to be the centre of attention, whereas I like to disappear in a room and watch everyone else.”
Selfridges store, on London's Oxford Street, is not involved, but Piven did visit after filming.
“I bought a jacket. I was under the radar and it was fantastic. But I didn't go parading around going, ‘Do you have any idea who I am?' I will never be that guy.”
Selfridge also knows a lot about women, whether it's his wife, mistress or the female shoppers he caters for. Piven – who often steps out with beautiful women – claims to be the opposite. “I know very little of women,” he sighs.
“This is a character who is devoted to his wife and kids but strays. I don't judge him, but try to give him as much integrity as possible. It's a bit like a Greek tragedy. You need to celebrate his whole life.”
Writer Davies,Buy online discount gucci handbags price from variety of collection. creator of the BBC's Pride And Prejudice, was drawn by Selfridge's personality. “He's a charismatic hero with self-destructive tendencies at the centre of a drama that explores the world of business and the joys and traumas of family life.
