I wasn't comfortable walking around Goose Snot, Idaho with my green bag stuffed in my pocket.New Designer Takes Unique and Fresh Look at Trolley bags Functionality.
Full disclosure requires I admit the town wasn't really named Goose Snot. I'm not sure of the real name; for all I know it could have been a suburb of Goose Snot.
The town had a gas station and a grocery store; I was there for the latter.
We were heading out for a few days into the national forest in our RV, and we needed a handful of items to hold us over until we found a major store to resupply. As is the case in many rural country stores, the selection was fairly good albeit a little expensive.
We were looking for, among other things, a few canned goods, flour and eggs; the store had all that and more. The guy behind the counter was surely happy I had taken out my earring and removed my “I brake hallucinations” bumper sticker.
I did my shopping, brought my goods up to the counter, pulled out my bag and handed it to him.If you're looking to purchase an Waist bags this lens is here to help.
“What do you want me to do with this?” he asked. One acumen why cooler bag factory and purses.
I explained that he could put my goods in that bag and that I did not need a plastic sack.
He peered inside as if to make sure it was empty and began loading it.
There is a floating island of plastic, twice the size of Texas, in the Pacific Ocean. Again, full disclosure requires I admit I have never been there, but it is featured on the Internet,Economico Copia wholesaler Briefcase vendita italia online store! so it must be true. The fact is I don't need to see that plastic island to know there is too much unneeded plastic being manufactured and used in the world. Single-use grocery and retail bags can be seen worldwide in landfills, roadsides, caught in trees and bushes; they spoil the landscape, kill wildlife and are an unnecessary eyesore.
It is for that reason that I seldom go to a grocery store without my own cloth bags; I've more than once put off shopping because I had no multi-use bags with me. This works well in larger cities and the resort town where I live, but seemed to be a new concept in Goose Snot.
In the USA alone each year, 12 million barrels of oil is required to make the 100 billion plastic bags that are mostly used for an hour or so than discarded.
Though I cannot spell, have no grasp on punctuation and need to read the owner's manual before operating a wheel barrel, I have Rain-Man-esque sense of spatial relationships. In high school I took an aptitude test and the results found I should work as one of those clowns that crowd into a Volkswagen or become a super market bagger. As soon as I saw all my items on the counter, I knew that, without judicious packing, my multi-use bag was too small to hold everything.
The guy from Goose Snot and I reached for the eggs at the exact same time. I knew that if I placed the dozen eggs on end I could slide them down the edge of my bag and make the trip to our RV.
Perhaps he was trying to make a point, or maybe he didn't want me touching his eggs before I paid, but he grabbed them out of my hands and placed in a plastic bag.
Had I been thinking, I would have paid and taken the plastic sack containing only my eggs to use a trash can liner, laundry bag or dinosaur condom. But rather, I thought I would lead by example and hopefully pave the way for future Goose Snot tree huggers.
Taking the eggs from the bag I said, “No sense wasting another bag just for these I'll just slide them in here.” I placed the plastic bag on the counter and slid the eggs into my bag.
The guy took my cash and, just after handing me my change,This was a fraction of Cooler bags in Beverly Hills. picked up the unused plastic bag and threw it in the trash. I couldn't help myself and said, “Well if you are going to throw it away I'll take a bag, I thought you might be able to reuse it.” Staring at me like I was a crazy person, he took another fresh plastic bag from the rack, ignoring the one he just put in the trash, and handed it to me.
I walked back to the RV my mate was in the back ready to put away the food.
“Why did you take a plastic bag?” she asked.
“It's not easy being green in Goose Snot.”
