In conjunction with National Business Women’s Week, the Jackson Area Business and Professional Women will announce the 2012 Woman of Achievement today during the first in a series of Brown Bag Lunches.

The Brown Bag Lunches will be held from noon until 1 p.m. today through Friday at the Jackson-Madison County Library Program Center, at 433 E. Lafayette St. in downtown Jackson. Attendees should bring their own lunches. Beverages will provided by the law firm of Middlebrooks & Gray, P.A. The event is open to the public, and there is no fee.

The following speakers are scheduled:

Thursday: “Car Buying Made Simple” presented by Deborah O’Bryant, Honda sales consultant at Victory Honda in Jackson.

Friday: “Sex and the Single Pistil,” presented by Carol Reese, University of Tennessee Extension ornamental specialist.

The Woman of Achievement is chosen by the following criteria: Works and/or lives in West Tennessee, excluding Shelby County; has achieved distinction in her field; has served as a role model and/or mentor for other working women; and embodies the BPW motto, “Women Helping Women,” especially in the work force.
